A creative response to Étoffe de Gloire / Royal Kita With Red Stripes by Olivia Kan-Sperling

At summer camp we played a game in which a number of us (always multiples of three) held each other’s hands in a complicated way that, after several crossings back and forth across the gym, produced a shape somewhere between a star, a French braid, a “Q”, and a pair of sunglasses —I now find the resulting topology impossible to replicate visually, much less describe. This form was only accessible through the medium of friendship, which I suppose was the point of the exercise, and summer camp, too.
